I have the hydraulic pump ready to go back on the 45 and I cleaned out the reservior and I want to know how much it holds? That is a small area to fill. is there anything else I should drain to get all the hydraulic fluid out? I have a IT manual but it doesn't say. also I saw a hint of red in the old fluid. I'm thinking automatic trans fluid. I hope it won't hurt anything. I did replace some seals and springs in the pump and didn't find any problems. I'm surprised it will raise the loader with such a small capacity. Is there a way I could add more? Will it hurt the pump to drive it with the loader up?

Hyd pump hold 6 quarts. use utf check the level with the rear rams full up. with a loader you can add 1 to 2 quarts if you get to full it will vent in the clutch housing area. you'll nee to make sure the drain there is not pluged. check the diptick with tractor on level round and warmed up. dont fill above the top of full line. When I change mine I buy a 2.5 gallon jug and have about 3 quarts left.
