Upon tear down of my WD45 for refurbishment I found the bell housing seal 70224687 leaking causing the clutch area saturated. Inspecting the flywheel I found heat cracks that were all the way through the inside lip of the flywheel. My question, is this a major issue since the flywheel is solid about 1/2" back from the inside lip; I am going to have it resurfaced and the clutch disk contact is not close to this area. The tractor will be retired from farm work and used as a masterpiece of an aera gone by.

. It's possible the retired tractor will go back into service if you sell it someday. Maybe repair the problem while you have everything apart? .

I would replace the flywheel since you are already in there.

If they're just hairline cracks, most will have those and just resurface it and use it...if real deep and opened up cracks, then replace it, if you think you need to...
