WD45 at a pull

   I was at a local pull saturday. An older gentlemen on a WD45 was having trouble, he got a few feet twice and each time the hand clutch kicked out. I was pretty sure of his trouble. When he turned around I saw the hardware hanging. I followed him and asked if knew what was wrong , he said that never happened before, I explained the purpose of the kick-out, he had no idea what it was. He looked at a nearby '45 and saw the bumper and said that one has it too. I pointed out they cut it off underneath.(must have been stuck on pin).
