can any one tell me how to get the rear left side differential off the tractor? i tried removing the brake pin but it snapped off flush with the housing i am wondering how to get the diff off now????? the band holds it on still I've pried and tried i don't know what to do next the diff slides about a half inch off the transmission studs but then binds and jams because of the the brake band do i torch the old band off do i try to screw all the studs out do i set the sucker on fire and push it down the hill looking for any help at all i cant think off what to do next? have never split a diff off a wd before and i can say i will never again they suck don't know why they put the pin on the bottom ether could have put it on the top side but no put it on the bottom were the water and gunk all settle so that 50 years later when someone like me has to change out the brakes i have to re event the wheel trying to get the thing a part to get the band off i think a boat anchor would be cheaper .Angry

Oh me you have ran into the dreaded brake pin.

Brakes have to be apart for the final drive to slip off. Don't torch your brake shoes. Some drill and thread the end of the pin to screw in a bolt to break it loose or attach a puller. Others torch the pin to get it out. I'm sure others will have more in depth ideas.

Use the fourm search using  'WD45 Brakes.' It will give you more ways and pictures to remove the famous AC brake pin. I used the drill and tap with a piece of pipe a little larger than the 3/4 inch pin with a grade 8 bolt and some big washers. When the bolt hits bottom add a couple of washers and go again. But do the search before you start.
