WD trouble running

   Ive had my allis wd for over a year now and have used it in club plow days and tractor pulls. Runs great but today when i started it, it ran for like 10 seconds then died. Tried to start again and the 6 volt system couldnt do it. So i got a 12volt jumper pack and it just didn start. Pulled it with another tractor and it started but ran only on one cylinder. It has a magneto. Checked the cap and rotor and it was dry and no corrosion. Good gas flow. No water in gas. Have to check plugs and spark yet. Any suggestions on what the all of a sudden problem could be? thanks

	Sounds like you are on the right track. If there is good spark then I would pull the carb and clean it.

	its a new rebuilt carb about when i bought it and the fuel bowl had a little dirt in there but i cleaned that

	Always... always check for spark first... it's simply too fast, and too easy to NOT do. Carry a spare spark plug in the toolbox, pull off one plug, stick it on the spare, and lay it against the block, and crank it. If you don't have spark, go no further 'till you do. Once you have spark, spray a snort of something flammable in the carb throat and crank it. If it doesn't fire, or fires out the intake or exhaust, go no further 'till you've checked timing and compression. If timing is good, make sure the valves are all seating properly. If it fires and tries to run on just the snort, stick a coffee can under, pull the drain plug on the carb and let it flow... it should fill the can pretty quick. If it doesn't, go no further 'till you've checked the carb bowl, float valve, fuel line, petcock, fuel pickup point (bottom of the tank) and fuel tank vent. The more I work on new cars, the more I love my old tractors. Hey... Where do I plug in my port-scanner on an Allis B ???
