I make my own. Just a piece of cold rolled steel (not hot rolled) cut to length and drill two 3/8" holes.

7/8 diameter if I remember right. I try to salvage mine, mainly because I am cheap. But getting the steering wheel off can take its toll. Not sure what the demand might be if you were to reproduce them? Couple a year maybe??? Just a guess? Regards, Chris

Good morning. I turned mine around and drilled two new holes. I also added grease nipples and bronze bushings where required. Ross.

There's nothing that takes away from a nice fresh paint job than a worn and rust pitted steering shaft that is now bright and shiny.

While you have the shaft out, I'd suggest replacing the tension springs behind the throttle quadrant for the levers. Also be sure to replace the shaft bushing in the quadrant and drill out the lower support by the engine for a bushing or you will still have slop with a new shaft. The old shaft makes a good pry bar or cut it into sections and you have a nice big punch set.
