Im starting to notice something lately whenever i pull with the drawbar on the allis 3pt hitch if i pull hard the hydraulics always lifts high as it will go and sometimes it will stay up even when i move the left lever on the quadrant is all the way to the bottom.
i have to shut the tractor off sometimes to get it to go down.
i made a homemade box to carry my chains in on the 3pt hitch but the box keeps getting smashed. is there something wrong or is it a setting somewhere

Sounds like you need to set your hyd pump to the hold position. Should be able to use the sticker on your battery box, or this picture.
