Just bought a wd that was going to be scrapped. Runs good, clutch is good, brakes good. I think it has been sitting in a shed and used for feeding hay in winter. Has hay forks attached to the loader and lots of hay behind the front grill. Looks like a little clean up and I will have a good tractor. The loader has some major leaks and will need some new seals, maybe some of you can advise me. Also, I am not sure where the serial number is--maybe under layers of grease. My dad had 2 different AC's when I was a kid (60's) and they were always reliable. I will try to attach some pics. Thanks in advance for any help!

Looking at the rear of the tractor find the left brake cover. stamped in the rear casting just below the brake cover you will find the S/N. It starts with WD---

nice looking rig,next thing you'll be looking for is a charylynn power steering.the loader looks to be a wagner but I could be wrong.where in western CO?If your close to KS Jerry at stanton co. imp in johnson can fix you up with parts and I got a couple parts tractors here in NE NM....

scrapped ? twenty years ago, no, 25 years ago i saw farmers using wd's on a daily basis that they depended on for serious profit/loss agri businesses, that werent nearly in as good of shape as the one pictured. are incomes in colorado so much higher than the rest of the country that equipment like this wd can be just discarded like a rusty bicycle? and replaced with what? .........nothing Allis Chalmers ever made should be considered disposable....... tp studer. wooster,ohio.

Welcome! I second Orange Blood's comments.
Looks like a pretty nice machine. These guys back east have a hard time thinking someone would scrap a tractor that still has paint on it instead of rust. Glad you saved it. Where did you find it?

Thanks for the welcome. The tractor was auctioned at an estate sale in Meeker and bought by a scrap yard. Not exactly sure what their plans were...maybe parts....but I showed up at the right time. Not many of these tractors left around here.

I think you were very fortunate to get it before it was scrapped. Don't think you would see anything that looks that good with that new of loader sold to a scrap yard in Wisconsin! Still lot of them working smaller farms here.

Looks like a nice WD -- I think I see a mag on the right side of motor which would be correct for a WD. I sure would like to know what make loader that is as I have one with the same frame but all pipe arms on it. WD / WD45's are very handy tractors that are easy on gas for the work they can do, BIG factor now. Welcolm to the forum!!

Colorado guys, I have hauled quite a bit of corn seed to your area, and am amazed at the quantity of good used machinery sitting around on your farms. We have on average about 39 inches of rain in Indiana, and anything sitting outside, or even in sheds suffer a lot more rusting than you guys in the High Plains do for sure. And those conditions exist from Missouri all the way east to the ocean. Most of the time when I was driving from farm to farm out there, my mouth was watering, and I was wishing I had a flatbed instead of a van trailer. I could count dollars, and dreams of bringing back a lot of your machinery to here and seeing people being amazed! Some of those threshers and old pull type(even horse drawn) combines have never been seen back here. Our stuff was much, much smaller!
