OK - now you got me started - I have a list of about 20 WC HC from 1945-48 which appear to be a factory configuration as the parts including the Adjustable Wide Front are in my 1946 Master Repair Parts Book - though they do not appear in the Dealer Repair Parts Catalog D3. See photos if they come thru. I would be interested in any more information anyone has on the WC HC configuration and any production information. Also would like to update my list to include tractor s/n , motor s/n, location, owner, condition of any more of these tractors. Best, Ed

I have had two single wheel HI CROPS. A 1938 unstyled sn WC68934 and a 1939 sn WC77509. I restored the 1939 but because of the condition the 1938 was parted out. I have written articles for OldAllis in saveral issues about the 1939. There is an Article in the the 2009 Winter issue A High-Crop by any other name... There are photos of it and a wide front like yours owned by Rod Mondor of Forest Lake, Minnesota. I have never been able to determine how many were built.

I think we talked right after the article came out - I have a bit more background info - particularly the Master Repair Parts Book which illustrates the Adjustable Wide Front in 3 variations as early as 1942 - but most of the ones I have actually seen are 1945-48. I've only seen 1 earlier than yours. Still looking for anything on production history as these seem to be AC made rather than Thomson conversions.

Welcome to the forum, the WC in your picture has an aftermarket high crop kit. We featured John Deere a few years ago at our threshing show and there was a B with the same type of high crop parts, the big plates for the front end and the chain drive to the rear wheels.

Looks very tipsy,wouldn't want to turn to fast and how on earth do you crank start it(safely)? I've seen a farmall H with the same setup on it also.

There was article that found on the internet about the conversations. If any knows and can send a link would be helpful. That one is not factory as the other person stated I have seen a John Deere made the same way. Here is my WC that has been built they used WD45 4 bolt front axle.

Thanks for the info... what were these types of tractors primarily used for? I found this one in corn country but didn't know if it was for late season cultivation or corn topping?
