Why go down in horse power?
3 WD45's with power steering,G,D15 fork lift,D19, W-Speed Patrol, "A" Gleaner with a 330 corn head,"66" combine,roto-baler, and lots of Snap Coupler implements to make them work for their keep.

It will bolt right up to a D17 if you want to go that way.

fellow put a WD engine in a D19 loader tractor and it worked good for him. Used a lot less fuel

just looking for options for the D14 I've got. 
wondering what will actually bolt in. 
I'm thinking if I can find a WD engine that might work...

you could bolt a 201 into a D17.  pretty sure it wont work on a 14
Me -C,U,UC,WC,WD45,190XT,TL-12,145T,HD6G,HD16,HD20

Dad- WD, D17D, D19D, RT100A, 7020, 7080,7580, 2-8550's, 2-S77, HD15

in regards to the gas engines, WC, WD, WD45, D17, 170, and 175; practically the same engine just with some upgrades for more hp.  From people who used a D14 and WD45, the D14 was a step down from the WD45.
WD45 nfe, D19 gas, 180 with rops & 500 loader

The 201/226 engine family won't fit in a D-14 chassis. You need a B-C-CA-RC-D10/D12/D14/D15 engine (small block).
