Pulled the engine out of the WC to do the pan gasket and rear main seal. Decided to replace the pilot bearing while I have it out. Crankshaft still has the wick in and the new pilot bearing is sealed. Think I read once to remove the wick and plug the hole in the crank. What do I plug the hole with, a cork or silicone?

Seems like Don Bradley talked about this but I don't remember what he said to use. Edit; It may be in the oil pan gasket thread in the knowledge base section. Edited by IBWD MIke - 10 Apr 2023 at 7:21am |

IIRC, I think the suggestion was to tap threads into the crankshaft and install a pipe plug.
