Is it possible to clean up a brake band that had grease on it and reuse?

Sure, Brake clean works pretty good. You may not get it as clean as new, but it will work. If you have the foot brake conversion, it may not work the best. I don't have foot brakes, but have heard some say they don't have the clamping power of the hand brake.
