Haven'tr seen one like that before.
Might be easier to rationalize if you rotate the picture. I downloaded it though and opened it and it came up right...weird. Does the PTO go through the unit to the back?

Thats a add on unit. Pump is inside the resevoir tank. I believe the Char-Lynn company made those for the wc's, not sure if their intended purpose was for a hydraulic source for loader operation or just to have hydraulics period

It is a
Char-Lynn pump they were used to put hdy. on older tractors. The most were WC & Oliver tractors. The one I used to own used non detergent oil in it. The one I owned was on a WC with a loader on it.

That is a Char-Lynn. hydraulic system. The mup and control valve are built into thetank. The other side should have a shaft sticking out with a control lever sticking out. It was a universial system used on many older tractors to add hydraulics, for a loader. Runs on a standard 540 RPM pto.

The few that I've seen sold did not increase the value of a WC. The unit by itsself will probaly sell for more than the tractor and unit together. You lose the use of the PTO to get a part time low pressure low volume hydraulic system. not a very usefull tradeoff, unless its just for show or parade duty. Quiet a few were made but they are geting scarce since when they stop working it cost more to repair then its worth. the last working unit I saw sold for $500. it came off a WC with a loader that was bought for $350.

I like the way this one is mounted. It's from the GOTO in CA a few years ago. Dusty ![]() |

We had one that looked similar on our wc. It attached directly to pto stub out of the pto box underneath the tractor. It operated a montgomry wards loader. don't know what co made the hyraulic unit. I still have sore spots from operating that tractor. Bill

Got up on my desk and laid on my left side to orient the picture correctly, and it is a Char-Lynn unit. Seriously I have a 35 WC to restore that has this same unit on it for hyd power. When looking at the picture the right side of the picture is down, and the left side is towards the front of the tractor. Mine powers a Sears Roebuck loader, which amzed me because I thought all of Sears tools were David Bradleys. Hmmm, the things you learn messing with old stuff!
