I rebuilt the 248 perkins in my 175 in 2010. The machine shop I used got a rebuild kit from a company named Maxi Force.
A 248 is the same as a 236 except for bore.
I also had to get new shafts for the balancer. I got those from a company named Endurance engine. Those parts were also from Maxi Force.

Look around. The 236/248 was used in agriculture, industrial and marine services. The engine is available with a stamped or cast oil pan. If you're looking for a short block you should be able to mix and match with what you have.

We poke fun at A/C mispellings. It's sort of like when someone hands you a piece of paper with your name misspelled on it.

Don't take offense. It's a long running joke. And yes at the moment I really didn't have anything better to do.

I do believe that the 236 Perkins in the 715 TLB has heavier timing gears to drive the hydraulic pump. Check it out.
Nothing is impossible if it is properly financed

Here's one of several rebuild kits I found. It was as easy as Googling "Perkins rebuild kit."
