Just got a WABCO air compressor. The motor in it looks like a D15. Anyone know anything about these. Model D226 (not motor) and 170 on the sheet metal.

Burgie: may have been a Westinghouse Air Brake unit. Can you post a picture of the Engine, so we can provide some insight.

WABCO , Westinghouse Air Brake Company, mfg of air brke components for rail and other air brake uses.
 Also did some hydraulic pumps .

After looking again I think it is a D17 motor. Behind the carb. it is stamped 17-82354-(?).

Why won't you try to have a different air compressor for that one. Brands such as extreme outback products and the like would be a good thing to have in order to get the desired performance of your vehicle on that one. Hoping that all things would be good and better in the long run with the changes that you can make here.
