saw much more than expected. mostly green & red - jd anniversary & farmall's are very popular there. but there were a few AC's in the parade like this sweet B - also some other interesting machines in the parade - a giant jd barn plus a smaller one for some unusual pieces - lots of personally owned equipment on display - a threshing exhibit - and a giant "field of dreams" with row after row of "needs help" as-found pieces - ![]() i took a lot more photos, these are reduced to fit on this forum. if anyone is interested, i'll post more in the shows section plus some words about what they have there. their website doesn't have a gallery. the tractors in the field of dreams are not identified, so i though i'd walk up and down the rows shooting a video next trip, then go back for detailed pix of any particular tractor in response to requests. i'll likely visit there once a month if the place turns out to be as friendly as advertised. it's the closest place around with a focus on farm equipment. hoping to score a project B and some implements at the july 29 auction. Love the "field of Dreams" pics. I know where there is a galvanized corn shell that looks a lot like this one.

they used the processed cobs as fuel for the steamer that was driving the big all crop hidden by the corn bin.
my plan is to raise goats (like my knowledgeable neighbor) and he just dumps the unprocessed cobs into the feed bin. goats are soooo low maintenance!!! and on my limited 5 acres i figure that's the best i can do - raise a variety of animal feed and a few veggies for us.

I visited there maybe 8 years ago in Oct. Nice assortment of machinery and some tractors you don't see east of the Rockies. Also some neat old trucks, there was a Chevy or GMC with a gas V12 engine (two V6's in one piece). It's good to see people are keeping the old ones and not sending every piece of iron to China just because the price is high.
The Gibson was built about 12 miles from me in Longmont, Colo. The wheels should be red. |
