I'm getting ready to adjust the vavles on my 190XT and was wondering is there timing marks on the crank pully or somewhere to know when the number one is on TDC? I know that right now it is because I just put the injector pump back on and not moved it yet. I want to do a vavle adjustment before I put the injectors in, and I will need to rotate it 180* to do the second set is there a mark I can line up or do I need to make one while it is setting where it is? I've looked in my manual but it doesn't say any thing about timing marks when I removed the injection pump. I did know to remove the little side cover on the pump and line the marks up there.

Hey Stray I am no expert but just 'been there' lol. For pump timing I turned engine till both valves were closed on #1 cyl then look at front crank pulley and get the 26* mark aligned with the pointer. Then rotate pump until timing marks align in window. For valve adjustment turn engine till #6 exh valve closes and adjust cyl 1 valves. Turn till cyl 2 exh val closes and adjust #5 valves. Turn till #4 exh valv closes and adjust #3 valves. Turn another 120* till #1 exh val closes and adjust #6 valves. Turn till #5 exh val closes and adjust both on #2. At last turn till #3 exh valve closes and adjust both on #4. Thats 2 revolutions and all have been done. HTH. Dana

Stray yes the timing marks are on front crank pulley. I took a wire brush and cleaned the pulley from the left side. You can brush it down real good with three 120* sessions. Then you can use starter to get numbers near the pointer which is on right side behind lower radiator hose. Then use fan and belt to get it to exactly 26*. Then you set timing marks and tighten pump.
