Hi
Our 185 is wet around where injectors go into head. The fittings seem dry where lines go to injectors. Going to wash it all off and see if we can tell if it’s oil or fuel. Which is more likely. Injectors leaking at head or valve cover gasket leaking into that area.

You have a 50/50 chance between injectors leaking or the valve cover gasket. Both my 175 and 185 leaked the same way and in both cases it was the cover gasket. Clean it up good and replace the gasket and see where you are. A lot of folks want to start pulling lines and injectors when they should do the simplest and cheapest thing first. My long distance guess would be the gasket leaking. Good luck.

From my experiences (2 of them), it'll be valve cover gasket

We've got 3 of them and all so far have been valve cover gaskets.

I's say if you repair 20 of the AC 301 engines with leakage near the fuel injectors "19" will be valve cover leaking and "1" will be at the injector. I've seen "1" that had the sleeves on fuel return lines leaking
The screws / bolts holding valve cover should be shouldered to prevent crushing the gasket. IF you do not have these, they are available from AGCO and come with instructions on installation. This change was done on 7020 tractor engines and was advised for all older engines.

Yes when I replaced the valve cover gasket I installed the ‘new’ shouldered bolts and their associated ‘springs’.

Well found most valve cover bolts were loose. But more surprisingly is there’s one keeper missing on a valve.
Can we use 209103 keeper. I noticed the numbers crossed. Just wanted to check what you all thought

If you have been running with one keeper missing, you must attend church regular. Some one is looking over you.                      MACK

Yes Mack we were amazed to see that. Tractor is new to us. Been sitting for awhile. We haven’t run it to to much. Been working the bugs out of it. We should have went and bought a lottery ticket after finding it lol.
We don’t have any of the 4376497 keepers but have 209103 keeper. Are they the same.
Thanks

As long as bolts same length and same quantity. Isn't a 6080 a 4 cylinder engine or is my memory off tonight.
Order bolt kit #74036974 and be sure you have a sharp 3/8" drill bit to enlarge the 8 bolt holes.  Gasket is either 4008074 or 74008074, my notes are smudged.

I'd say so Mike. Got cover off 8070 right now and the holes are larger than 1/4 in.
