I have a Woods L59 mower complete with all mounting hardware and hydraulic lift cylinder. The deck is on the rough side and missing the pulley covers. The spindles are tight and very good. I would replace the blades and it would need a belt. I think it would be a very functional mower, just not a show piece. Came off a B I bought and I don't need it. With the limited info any ideas about asking price?

My guess would be about $400 with new blades and a belt. I just got new blades for my Woods L-306 deck and they were $93. FWIW.

Sounds like a 2 to 300 dollar mower to me. I got one reasonable years ago and was shocked at prices from the dealer on spindle shaft and blades, not to mention their belt prices. I never bought another new belt from the dealer, and had good luck with the one I got from work at half the price.

Charlie, IIRC the last spindle I bought for my L59 was for a New Holland rear mount finish mower. Local dealer matched it to my old spindle and it was less expensive.

I just sold a 6', 3 point, Woods finish mower for $500. Was in real good shape. I might have gotten more but I wanted it gone. I'm thinking yours would have a very limited audience with it coming off of a B. Not sure if it would mount on a C or CA. Just put it on CL and keep updating it, and see what kind of hits you get.

The only way it would mount to a C or CA is if it has the 3 piece push bar that is adjustable for width. The pieces with the flange for mounting are on a smaller tube that slides inside the main tube. |

I just brought the mower home and it would just go on a B. I might try for $325.00 obo and see what happens. If not it will go back on the B it came off of. Thanks for all the replies and suggestions. Mike

I suggest that you keep it! You ALWAYS need an extra in case one breaks down. HONEST!! Would I lie? Had it happen to me with the C. Thank God I had the CA to fall back on. I'd hate to think about all that grass and cutting it with a little lawn tractor....OUCH!!
