Hey guys getting my wd pulling tractor back together and am getting the top end wrapped up. I'm wondering what I need to set the valves at cold for the first start. I know it needs to be set for the final time hot but wondering what cold spec should be. Also does hot. 010 intake and .019 exhaust sound right? Thanks.

I'd go for at least .015 maybe .025 cold on the intake because usually the clearance is less with the engine hot and you don't want new valves held open to leak and burn the valve and the valve seat. The bigger the gap the more delay in the valve opening but an intake valve leaking combustion pressure upsets the whole engine running.
