Well to be honest, the front weight is just one of many unusual features on this West Coast Model G located on Craigslist.

The weight looks like a pretty good burnout reproduction.

arrgh! near enough to be verrry tempting. does that price sound about right?
been looking more for a B or wd45 but... that might be useful in my light sandy soil.

52 CA, 41 B and a little B1 oh, yeah... and an 8N ford snuck in there, too.

I have found that reasonable men can disagree on the price of used goods. This tractor has had some major modifications to the lift system. If all of that works properly and it meets your needs then the tractor might be a good deal. On the other hand you will be completely on your own if the farmer-engineered lift (and goodness knows what else) goes belly-up.
It also appears that returning it to a "normal" model G might be problematic. This could affect resale value should you want to sell it in the future.
Best regards,
Scott

thanks, gentlemen. think i'll stay focused on what i can actually use immediately. just didn't want to miss a "really great deal" on anything orange if this was one.
got enough on my plate right now with work time limited by excessive heat & humidity and oh yeah... that job thing.
