Looking for a few opinions on the value of a 1937 WC. We're still cleaning up from Hurricane Florence and thinking I may part with my WC to offset some expenses. I have looked online but prices are all over the place.

The tractor is the base model, no options or PTO. Older restoration with new tires. Runs and drives great. Paint is really good. Tin and fenders are straight. Three owner tractor and this ome has lived an easy life.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

What wheels does your WC have?  Spoke wheels would be correct.  Round spokes if it came out on rubber.  Flat spokes if it came out on steel wheels & was later converted to rubber. Does it have spoke front wheels?  Is it a crank start or does it have a starter?  Posting a picture would help us put a price on your WC.  I saw a nice, running unstyled WC go for $800. at auction.  That's the lowest I've seen.  A guy called & asked if I was interested in his for $3000.  I'm not & I don't know if he ever sold it.

There's a 1937 WC coming up for sale on Nov. 3 on the Butch Rafferty auction.  Auctioneer is Aumann Auctions.  Google Aumannvintagepower.com.  Aumann's Fall Auction is coming up Oct. 26 & 27.  Check that sale out, too.

I hate to say that it wouldn't be worth any more than $1000 tops.  They just aren't worth much.  Heck, even WD's struggle to bring much more than $1000-1200 anymore.

Ever notice how when you HAVE a tractor, it ain't worth squat,

but when you WANT a tractor, they are made of gold?

Yea why is that? I had that WD45 in my sites a year ago and it went for over $3000. Had to settle for a lower cost 45 that needs a lot. And I will have way more in it than that and never be able to get my money back. Guess I just dont live right?:)

Thanks for the insight. I agree prices are down. Whenever I see a WC comparable to mine the asking prices start to get silly. The one thing it has going for it is that you don't see these on the east coast. Looks like I'll keep her.

Well selling and buying the key is to be willing to wait and not be in a hurry.

Several changes to wheels came about in 1937
Front wheels and hubs are integrated prior to serial number 23529, these would be round spoke, usually 17".  from 23529-59627 the wheels have six lugs on separate wheels and hubs.  At 1937 serial number 59628 at up have five lugs.
Rubber tired rear wheels are round spoke prior to 1937 serial number 59636, adfter that number they used the steel dish wheels.
Information taken from Allis Chalmers Data book, by Terry Dean.
Most problems can be solved with the proper application of high explosives.

Thank you for the info. Mine is Tractor No. WC586XX, and configured as described in the book. Six lugs on the front wheels and spoke wheels on the rear. Thanks again. Brad

BEK   Looking at the picture you have a way above average WC  I agree with Gary B and suggest you wait for the right buyer who will pay fair price.  Those of us who have been in the hobby a while know a person never recovers what is invested for several reasons.  For me it is a hobby I enjoy and have only made money on a couple of tractors of the 60 or so I've had over the past 60 years.  If I were in it for money I would fix up green tractors .
