I have a friend with a hand start UC. He wants to convert it to electric start. we are wondering if the flywheeel on a hand start UC is already turned down to accept a ring gear?
I have a flywheel from an electric start UC that I can sell him if the hand start flywheel has to be turned down. Also, can the ring gear be flipped over if one side is ruined? Finally what is a oilpan with starter hole worth? I have one of these that I am also going to sell him. Thanks, Jason |

I can't answer your question. But a couple of years ago, I checked on pricing to put elec start on my 1935 U , starter $500.00, pan was around $300.00 and I have the ring gear. my budget, and my wife, makes me hand crank it for quite a while yet.

If the ring gear is worn in one area just turn it. An engine usually stops in the same spot.
