Has anyone had the line coming out of the back of the traction booster gauge burst? I was on the last pass in the garden with the D-17 and a 2 bottom sc plow in 3 low when I noticed hydraulic fluid streaming down the side of the torque tube. Pulled the side panel off to find that the line had burst just behind the brass fitting that attaches it to the gauge. No big deal since the gauge rusted out years ago. Figured I could just plug it at the port on the top of the torque tube. However, the specialty fastener store couldn't even match the fitting on the other end of the line. I have seen replacement gauges that are supposedly "working" gauges. Has anyone ever bought one? Do they really work? More importantly, do they come with a replacement line and fittings? Also, could there be a bigger problem that caused excessive pressure and that just happened to be the weak point? Meaning... if I replace it, could something else blow? I'd appreciate the help cause I'm dead in the water until I can at least stop the leak. Thanks.

Just put a new TB gauge on my D-17 ser.3 a couple months ago. Got it from DJS tractor parts and works perfect. Also had to replace the supply line,but had to get it from AGCO and it cost around $80.00 The supply line had a tiny pinhole caused by the throttle linkage rubbing on it. I feel AGCO root wadded me on the line,but it did come pre formed and fit perfect. I think the new gauge was around $100.00

This line also leaks on our series IV diesel. Hope to replace or fix it some time.

Go to Advanced Auto or O'reilly's and get a "HELP" oil line for about $11.00. It had all of the fitting in it that I needed to replace my leaking Traction Booster oil line on my D15, including the adapter to go from 1/8" pipe to the tubing. On my CA the tubing is connected using a double flare fitting and a flare nut. Bob

I started to do like "Chalmersbob" did and go auto parts store,but I figured all they would have is a line for engine oil pressure gauge which is fairly low pressure. I don't know how much pressure this line has on it,but I know it is way,way more than engine oil pressure. Maybe a piece of brake line tubing would work,but I figured what the heck,it's only money and got it from AGCO. I guess more than anything,I just wanted to keep my tractor original as possible.

when ever you raise your rear lift watch the TB gauge, it gets pressurized when ever the pump kicks in.

No, but it is HI pressure so it dont surprise me
I do believe the fitting is an inverted flare 1/8

YABUT there is no NEED for the gauge. You can buy an oil filled 5,000 PSI gauge for about 15 Bucks from most any supplier of such things and it will work just as good or better than a $100 repro Allis Gauge. Not for the purist but..........

Don't buy a new repro gauge. I bought one and after a few months the needle fell off. Next year, the face filled with fluid and popped the glass. Several others on here had similar problems. Either get it rebuild, or take ctucker's advice. I gave up and have a nice 5000PSI gauge on my WD45 for $20
