I purchased a tow bar that I thought would mount to the rear of my 1954 B. Unfortunately, I don't see a bolt pattern that fits on the rear of the tractor. A picture of the tow bar is attached. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Would like to attach a cart or possibly a drag disc.uploads/7187/TowBar1.pdf

Look at the final drive cases on each side.. There is a 3 inch diameter sheetmetal round cover over the end of the axle shaft.......... There should be two 5/8 hole in front of the round cover and two behind the round cover. .......... you can bolt it on there.. sometimes there is an adaptor plate / pin that pokes thru one of the THREE holes and allows you to adjust up and down.
if its 12 inches too wide, then you have a "C" drawbar instead of a "B". Edited by steve(ill) - 13 Mar 2018 at 7:13pm |

Like them all, but love the "B"s.

Either that drawbar has had the ends modified or it is not for a B. The B drawbar is held to the finals by a flat piece of thick metal with a pin on one end and a bolt hole on the other. The pin goes through a single hole in the drawbar and the bolt goes through one of 3 holes at the end of the drawbar which allows it ti be adjusted up or down.

Here is a picture of the basic B drawbar.
![]() This one was listed in e-bay for $228, a bit pricey IMHO

and you need a vertical bar / rod up to the seat brace to support the drawbar in one position.

Your drawbar looks to be one of the earliest designs that Allis made for the B tractors. It should mount as the above posts say, however as your tractor is a 54 model, you will have to drill the smaller 1/2” holes to 5/8”, unless you would rather trade for the proper late model drawbar. Where in Md. are you located?

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere.
Real pullers don't have speed limits. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY |

Doesn't look like a B drawbar. B is all forged from one piece. The picture shows flat plates welded at the end. Maybe for a Farmal Cub ! Gary |

Went to view drawbar on a friend's AC B. His has the plate with the pin. Would like to trade my drawbar for one of that type. Will be in the Bowie area Mon-Tue of this week if still interested.
BTW, anyone know of availability of a "drag disc" for the B?
