It manual says 4 quart but that justs touches dip stick full mark is up another inch and a half i wonder if wrong stick or is book wrong and needs more oil the full line is up about 2 inches on the stick, thanks for all your help.

Make sure the dipstick is in all the way. Mine only holds 4 quarts. Hold on, i'll double-check.

Just measured dipsticks on both Cs in the shop. Dipstick bayonet shaft is 9 7/8" long, as measured from the business end to the bell cap(not the end of the handle. Full mark is at 8" from the bell cap. That should eliminate an incorrect dipstick, and give you a place to mark full if you do have the wrong one. Don't forget to start the engine and fill the filter before taking a final check of the level.

my c and c/a takes 5 quarts with the filter my wd and wd45 takes 6 quarts with the filter hope this helps dudley

I've always put 5 in my CA. The fiber filters will soak up quite a bit.

Maybe it should be 5 quarts. I have mine filled to the full level, whichever it is. The measurements on the dipstick should eliminate any confusion. If the mark is at the right place, fill it up to that point.
