Here's a photo of an Allis Chalmers sale I attended last spring over
near Martinsville Illinois by the Indiana border. Don't remember who's
it was, but it was nice. Enjoy

Looks like the vendor had collected most of the AC models up the mid 1960's ? He could not have been confident of selling the Case without the AC support ? (where it's parked)

The rack wagons sold first. The prices for those parts on the wagons drove me away. I left before they got to the equipment. I do remember a NOS in the box engine crank for a WD sold for $110 dollars. |

Yep, and as I remember it he was selling his collection to buy a new pulling sled. He was expanding his tractor pulling sled business. He also had an old pulling sled in the shed that had an Allis Chalmers WD attached to it, kind of like the old Allis road graders. He had worked at an Allis Chalmers dealership. 100 self propelled , a few people were kicking themselves after that one. Problem is what do you do with it, how do you transport and where do you keep it? |

I was there also Pat. Bought some NOS stuff. Dale Haymaker was there and was biddin' against me. Remember the ing. switch/keys Dale? I do remember a WD45 with a two row picker attached and both ran fine. That was one I could kick myself about! I believe it sold for $1100 or $1200 dollars. Any one remember that was there? I know alot went to the scrapers. Pretty good sale though.......

Oh well, I won't do that again!

I also was at that sale. I had a good day on U parts, and I ended up with a good U parts tractor and a couple plows. I did not win the U at first, but the guy who did really did not want it. He approached me to see if I did, and sold it to me for his bid as long as I promised not to scrap it out. I have held to my end without waiver, I had plenty of other parts U's here, but I am a U "Hoarder" lol. I ended up with a good skeleton to work with for 200 bucks, and it had two good original front spoke wheels, both late U cast center rears, one good rear rim, a good manifold, fenders, good steering box, oil pan with starter drive, starter, and a great radiator core. I met a few forum members there too. always a nice side effect of being an forum member:)

That NOS WD crankshaft was a steal.

That was a "hand crank" shaft for starting the tractor. |
