Well it looks like we are going to ink a deal on a 7020, and a 7045 just SW of Fort Worth.  Dad is buying a 7045, and I am buying the 7020 with a loader.  What this means is we will be heading South out of the Kearney/Grand Island NE area, with and empty trailer.  We are thinking of making this a three day trip, since it's getting harder and harder for dad to sit in a truck for all those road miles.  If you are interested in haveing anything hauled, the cost would be low, basically just fuel cost.  She is a thirsty ol CAT, gets about 6mph or so depending on the load, so that gives you an idea.  We are pulling a drop deck trailer, with beaver tail.  Loading and unloading equipment would have to be figured out as well.  We will have a winch of sorts, but it is powered by another tractor (yours) :-) it is basically a 5/8" cable, and a pulley tied to the trailer with a chain, and you pull off to the side.  So if you need a hand, let me know, currently we are looking at the mid to late October time frame this year.

Well, I think it is set in stone at this point.  The weekend of October 20th, we will be heading south empty, so hit me up with a PM if you are interested.  I do think the route has changed a little, will be going South of Holdrege, NE, through Hays, KS, and down through the Wichita Falls, TX area.

Your route will take you, within a mile of my place, in Burkburnett Texas ( just east of I44), I don't have a lot to show off but I can put on the coffie if you need to take a break over this way.

I am not a farmer , but I do enjoy helping a farmer friend of mine.

Hey Gary,

That's a great offer, unfortunately at the moment we are taking 183/283 through Vernon.  While I like the intersate for speed, I have grown to like the Two Lanes better, a lot less traffic on them than there used to be, and the country is a fair sight prettier.
