How much work is it to replace the shaft from the transmission the differential on the left side of the combine. The splines on the shaft and sleeve are rounded off.

My uncle's dealership took 2 bad uni-mule transmissions and made one good transmission for ADM last winter. Same trans as the F2 that is prior to SN 48200. I saw it in there over the winter and asked about it because I have an F2 that is needing transmission work. If I remember correctly the labor on that bill was $2500 to $3000. They may still have some of the parts that were good in both transmissions but I would think that the trans would need to be opened up to replace any of the shafts.
If you have the part numbers that need to be replaced I can check with the service manager or mechanic to get an estimate. I am around home this week helping with wheat harvest and straw baling so I will be able to meet with them face to face instead of by phone. They also have a couple of F-F2 in the boneyard that are mostly complete in the drivetrain area. |

If its just the shaft and sleeve its a piece of cake. Knock the roll pin out of the sleeve and slide the sleeve to the inside and the shaft will come out.

What is the part number? McCullough Implement has an F2 in the boneyard that probably has the shaft you are looking for. Go to AGCOpartsbooks.comog on as a guest.

lot of F2's in the bone yards.Should be an easy find. There are 2 couplers on each shaft.Better be greasing them like the book says. The inner on the rt side is a PITA cause I gotta drop the screen to get to it. O'le Tbran mentioned the importance of greasing couplers years ago.
