If it's got a bigger throat & throttle plate bore where it bolts to the manifold, it's probably "better".

The way I would look at it, I would think it depended on the mods to the engine to pick out a "better" carburetor. If the engine is stock, both the Zenith and Marvel carbs work well. I like the Marvels a little better myself only because you can work with them in a little bit larger parameter than the Zeniths for modifications and dialing them into a specific engine or engine size. The TSX422 is a good small bore carb, and responds to a little bit of "tweeking" for stock engines. Done a few of those for our customers in the past, and they worked fine....

When I went to the bigger carburetor venturi I was able to get more RPM's but lost lugging power. I found that I could get all the engine could use for pulling with the stock carburetor. I built my own pulling track and tested every change I made to get my C to do what I have shown in the video. Without changing the amount of air going thru the engine with longer strokes, larger pistons and or a special ground cam shaft the larger carburetor will have to be tuned back to the stock carburetor to make the engine run properly.
Stock carburetor with internal changes to tune the engine power.
Not trying to brag but to show what you can do with a C and still have the outside of the engine look totally stock.
