I thought the combines went cheap. 1st r50 brought approx $4500, next around $5000. M3 under $3000, N6 under $4000, one N5 i think under $4000. 7080 $5700. didnt pay attn to 190xt or 440 or most other machinery. all prices quoted are near guesses (+/- a couple hundred dollars, I didnt pay close attn or write down). I wanted a side panel for a 7000 series. Ended up buying the pallet, 4-5 side panels for 7000 series, a hood for 8550, 3 sides (rough) for 6070/6080, a white fiberglass sunshade for unknown tractor, and a handfull of other shields. Grand total, $60! Nothing mint, but most usuable.
New parker 1048? cart=$30000 new parker 505 wagon=$10,700 i think I didnt even make it inside for the manuals and toys. That ran almost all day, maybe 10am til 3pm, outside ring was 10-5ish, I left around 4:15. Some pretty pricey parts sold cheap, as most everything was sold by the pallet. There may have been a pallet of 2 new alternators, a couple random clutch disks, and misc parts thrown in. I'm glad i did a very efficient job of emptying my checkbook before hand, otherwise I may have come home with a truckload, or a couple combines!

Where was the sale? At the old shop in Dane?

I tried to follow the science, but it was not there. I then followed the money, and that’s where I found the science.

Brad, I was in the crowd when you bought that pile.
I got some deals, paid fair money for some others. They would have gotten more $$ if they had let people have some time to look at the pallets ahead of the sale. Lots of gems hidden amongst mediocre stuff. I got three new seed tubes/sensors for the 385 planter for $25 each and bought a pallet for $90 that had a complete CAT III top link for 7000/8000 tractor, 4 new LH plow shares, and a new FWA hub for 8000 series plus some misc. stuff I can use for welding projects. Talked to another fellow who bought a pallet for $120 to get a new alternator. He later found that he had also gotten a box of 4 new ball-and-socket headlights for the 8000 series and Gleaners. Auction was in Arlington, WI in/around an empty warehouse. Turned out to be a much nicer day for a sale than was forecast.

I'd almost pay money to hear of more posts about this auction. It seems like such a cloak and dagger ending to such a storied dealership?! I went there a few times "right before the fire". They had a nice ST40 on the show room. Someone tried to sell it to me but I was in a hurry to get my parts. Just curious if there was any of the "D" series or older parts there? And why in receivership and why did they unexpectedly move? More mysteries than answers unless AGCO had something to do with the demise?

Maybe someone has more correct info but not agco's fault although they may not have helped the situation. I beleive it was more the next generation taking over the business and the poor timing of building the new building, think about it the new building was done just before the economy tanked. although this has ben a good time for ag, so if managed right and adapted to the times it could have survived. Just general guesses if anyone has the facts they can set us straight.

If you couldnt make it selling machinery now. You would never make it. Everything you call on is sold. The farm economy is really at an all time high right now,and has been for a couple years. If those Ag dealers cant make it now, wait till this crashes like the general economy did, and it will
