Topic: Chrome exhaust pipePosted: 07 Dec 2011 at 10:08pm |

I am looking at getting a chrome exhaust pipe for my 190XT. I've seen several that get discolored at the bottom closer to the turbo elbow. What is the best kind to get so that this does not happen?
Any advice would be appreciated!

I don't know if they make them for tractors, but double wall chrome pipes are used on motorcycles to prevent discoloring.

Run a perforated feeder pipe inside the chrome one.

I run a 4" pipe inside the 5" chrome pipe on my D-21. No discolouring after cultivating 1000 acres. I have a real good system with no welding and everything below the hood for putting this together. I worked with my local heavy truck parts supplier.

They actually do make the double-wall chrome ones for tractors. I looked at them for some of my tractors. I've got to leave for school and don't have time to look right now but if you guys haven't found them by this afternoon I will be glad to help.

I used a 3" to 4" adaptor off the turbo and installed a 4" pipe up to the curve of the chrome pipe. I then slid a 4" to 5" adaptor down the 4" pipe with the big end down. Next the 5" chrome fits on to the second adaptor. You will likely want to go 3" to 4" on a one ninety so you can eliminate the first step. Both tractors above have this setup but only the one with the curved pipe is mine.
