this was our tractor dad traded it for the new 6080 30 years ago in march. I drove it on the roll back never figuring to ever set on it again well i found it with some help of family and bought it back (probly paid close to what dad got on trade lmao ) funny it only went about 20 miles i have fixed the hand clutch now working on the brakes then sand blast and paint this winter want the old girl to look good

Looks to be in great shape. Always great to find those tractors that were in the family. Even has the wheel weights to boot.

I wouldnt repaint it. That would ruin it in my own opinion.

Gahhh!!!! Repaint it!! NOOOOO!!!! That thing is in its original work clothes...it looks way too good to be sandblasted and painted. I can only hope and wish I find a D-19 that looks like that some day.

I agree with you guys on keeping a good originial tractor originial. I'm not sure that this tractor hasn't already had a re-paint. Some orange paint on the head lights, rear wheel centers and weights are orange instead of cream, top of air cleaner in cream instead of black. I hope it is originial and just these items have been painted but I can't tell from the picture.

calvin you are correct it was repainted when we go it back in the early 70 s sevral thingt arent correct and i thik it should be corrected

Morton,
I have her twin for sale in Central NY (half way between Albany and Syracuse). Excellent sheet metal, SC unit with 3-spool valve and all lights still in-place. Even has the original A-C block heater on her with the A-C logo embossed in it and starts down to the high 30's without either, or being plugged in. I bought it from the original owner in 2004 and she just mows 10 acres/year with an old New Idea sickle bar mower to keep her lubed up.
PM me if interested as she will make her way down to Texas at some point if she does not sell.

I missed a D19 gas at a sale today in Brush, Colo today by about half an hour. We had quite a snow storm last night, over 12", and the trees still have a lot of leaves. Spent a bunch of time knocking off snow then drove two hours to the sale. Saw a couple guys I know and asked about the tractor, it ran well and is only missing the fenders, sold for $1200. Oh well.....
Nice Diesel D19, by the way!

This reminds me of something I found about a year ago. I was looking at craigslist and ran across a old jeep about 70 miles from home that I was interested in. I went and looked at the jeep and I wasn't interested in buying it (too rough). As I was leaving something caught the corner of my eye in the barn. You see, Granddad had old WD for years when I was a kid. When he bought the tractor it had a narrow front. My dad put a wide front under it and fabbed a power steering on it from a Chevy truck (including the Chevy belt drive PS pump). What caught my eye was a WD style grill and right behind it was a GM power steering pump sticking out the side. I had found Granddad's old tractor. 70 miles from home and I was there on a unrelated matter.

Bradley, that is a nice looking D19 diesel. Wish i could say mine had a family connection. Great story. I'd be inclined not to paint it if it was still factory paint.

thats what happens when the sleep in the barn every night for 40 + years it was painted before we got it back in th early 70 s and blotches of that paint are missing or flaking off
