There's a guy that lives not too far from me that I've heard of but just met on Saturday. He worked for AC on nuclear reactors, the fuel cell tractor and batteries for the apollo moon vehicle. I told him he should write a book. I want to take him to dinner and hear some stories some time. Anyway, he said AC built a fuel cell fork lift that ran on ammonia. They did that so they could use anhydrous to fuel them. He said manufacturers still haven't figured out how to do it but AC had a working one back in the day. Not sure if related to the fuel cell lift but he said the scariest time in his life happened when a load shifted on a prototype fork lift and it grounded out and the magnesium caught on fire. Anyway, a neat guy.

The company I was working for was making Titanium plates for fuel cells for GM and their prototype fuel cells. I was asking about them to one engineer and he said the GM design and patents were the old AC materials that GM acquired at some place in time.
