Just bought an RC and it's missing it's ring and pinion assembly, is it possible to put an WC ring and pinion into an RC casting or should I try to source and RC one or a complete WC rear end? Are the carriers the same length to go into the case. Would mainly be using for pulling wagons, raking and parades mainly not really planning on plowing with it.

Ring and pinion ratios are 6.6 to 1 for an RC (and a factory WC high-crop) and 4.7 to 1 for a regular WC.  There is almost a 30% difference in gear ratios slowing down the RC. Both tractors were made to plow with a 2-bottom plow in second gear in normal conditions. The RC had a faster engine speed of 1500 rated RPM while the WC was at 1300 RPM. So, there is 15% picked back up in faster engine speed for the RC.  If you're going to use it as a parade tractor, WC gears would suit me just fine. If you plan on plowing with it and use WC gearing, you will be in LOW gear to plow.

wc ring and pinion will be alot easier to come by.  likely the RC was pulled to go into a wc puller and exponentially more wc R&P made.  Hell  i have a few axles laying around.  where you at in KS?

There's two ways to go about it. Gear it down so the engine doesn't choke, ORRR   build enough torque/HP to not need to gear it down !!!

I have an rc id sell. Block is repaired, you’d mainly be buying it for the rear end. $700 takes it. It does have rc gears in it. Located near Walcott Iowa, I might come down to lathrop goto.
