I really like the sincerity as to thinking these Draft Animal Powered Farms will feed the closing in on 370Million people in the US and sell 'Excess' to foreign lands.  NOT Gonna Happen.

Agreed.
But there won't be  370 million; never underestimate the power of war, pestilence, and famine.

I used to have a old neighbor years ago, all JD on his farm(dead now) that would send me news paper clippings then call about 4 in the morning to talk about them. Anyways I got a clipping from a article about JD and one of there executives when asked if they had 4 or 6 cylinder engines coming stated they had no intentions of ever making more than 2 as they produced more than sufficient enough power for any farm no matter there size and there will be no need for any tractors requiring more than 2 cylinders. or something to that effect.

The whole premise is based on the assumption that global oil production has already or very soon will peak.   These "experts," (educated beyond their intelligence), are under the assumption that the earth is no longer producing oil and we have found it all.  Now they are probably correct predicting the prices of fuel because we have seen what lengths, "the experts," will go to.  These are also the same people that think that man can destroy the earth, we might try, but divine intervention is a concept they will not consider or accept.

I have been on this earth for 71 years now, and for most of those years, I have heard the same wisdom, we only have 10-15 more years of fossil fuel left, maybe less!
Draft animals are not all that efficient, and besides haven't you heard, they are big air and water polluters. I suspect if anything, we would go to hydroculture.

I am still confident of this;
I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living.
Wait for the Lord;
be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. Ps 27

I can't remember his first name but his last name was gold. Big deal at Cornell. Think he even brought Carl Sagan to Cornell. Anyway, he therozied that there was limited evidence that oil found in the ground may be "fossil fuel" but actually as a result of the pressure of the earth's core and as a result there may be a nearly constant oil production in the earth. Sounds kind of different but turns out the guy was correct about several of his outlandish theories.

These same Peak Oil, Gonna be ALL Gone Oil began around the 1960s, would Peak 1980s, then 2000 then 2015-2020, and ON it rises.  Seems they have NO CLUE how much really existed, or still exists but by the Last Gulf Blowout Deepwater Horizon there are MILLIONS of Barrels remaining.

Was explained by a BIOLOGIST that Petroleum, in Early raw form is in nearly every Ditch and Stagnant water body, algae and microbes in the water die, sink to bottom where are covered over with silt, they rot and decay eventually into a form of Oil, Every River or stream with algae blooms or available Microbial life will do this, the end result is the reflood waters carrying of these minute animals to the Gulf Of Mexico where they are further buried in the shallows off the River Estuaries.  Oil is in Constant Regrowth as is Coal, ANYWHERE Organic Mass is buried by Floods the beginning of Coal Seams begins anew.

The same as Lou most of my life we have been 10 years from out of oil. Ant ever happened yet.  All the history I have read dry arid areas only became profitable to farm after the tractor. The draft animals eat a lot of crop. And they eat when there is no crop. But if you want them next year to pull the plow, you need to feed them.

I suspect with all the gene "editing" and moving DNA with GMO crops we should be able to add the nitrogen fixing rhizomes of legumes onto grasses. Corn and wheat that would make there own N.  Wink But what fool would do that. It would only take money from those that are squeezing the last drop of blood from the poor.

The way Big Boys are playing today, I finally feel the ticking of the nuclear clock. The end may be near. Only God can save man from himself.

Have to be really careful as to N2 fixation genetic mods to food crops, can kill livestock with excess nitrogen in their fodder.
Nitrate poisoning.
