I'm curious if anyone would know if the snap coupler could be ordered on a new 190 xt throughout the entire production run, or if it stopped with the end of the sloped fender models? Dr. Allis has mentioned in the past that the snap coupler will bolt on any year tractor, and that got me thinking. I recently bought a late ('66 or '67, can't see the serial number, loader mounts are in the way) xt slope fender with 3pt., and have an early xt parts tractor with snap coupler, and was toying with the idea of putting the snap coupler on it, and wanted to find out if this could have been period correct or not. I'm guessing there aren't any records of what hitch system was ordered with a specific tractor? Thanks for any input,

Can't prove it, but I can guess. The One-Seventy and One-Eighty came out in summer (July?) of 1967. They were never offered with a snap-coupler, although a couple of years ago I saw one on a One-Seventy. Seems to me like there were wrench marks on most all the bolts involved, so I think it was a selling dealer installation. So, I guess I'd be surprised if there were any or many 190/190XT's equipped with snap-coupler when you got to the 1968 model year build. 1968 s/n started at 19,262. The new Sheetmetal started at 19,001. Can't prove it, but that's my guess.

Bought new in 1969?? If so, it could have been sitting on the dealers lot and be 2 yrs old. New fenders or old fenders ??

Are the snap-coupler components the same between a D-19 and a One-Ninety ?? Only differences would be the bell hook release linkage and the Traction Booster linkage, because the platform was much different and the hydraulic valves were different. All the main iron pieces should be identical.

I think Norm Swinfords book says the last year for the snap coupler on the 190 was 1968. I will need to double check that.
Shouldn't be a problem putting one on a 3 point model, they were both made at the same time. Take the 3 point off and bolt the snap coupler on. The diagrams on the AGCO parts book website would show you all the pieces. As long as you have everything, should be straight forward.

My 190xt has the snap coupler, but it’s a 66. At one time I thought about putting a 3 point on it and it looked like it would work out. If anyone wants a 190 with snap coupler let me know.

There were field installed snap coupler kits.... Sam in Ga has one for sale for a 180. (I guess an one eighty would be the proper grammar - but that sounds awkward)

My 190 has a snap coupler and a cobbled on 3 pt. it's a 1964

Thanks to everyone that has replied to this question, always interesting to get different answers, input and further discussion! The consensus I'm getting is that snap coupler was available until late '67 when the sloped fenders were discontinued, so if I put the snap coupler system from the early parts tractor on this most recent 190 I bought, I shouldn't get any crap from the correct police, lol!! The early 190 came from a salvage yard and has been outside with the head off for who knows how long, might not be worth fixing the engine, whereas the latest one is a good running tractor so far, and it also has the manually engaged pto, which may have also been ordered on a snap coupler tractor when new. Guessing the hydraulic engaged pto was optional. Would anyone know if the 3pt was more or less expensive than the snap coupler at the time? How about the power shift wheels/rims vs the regular wheels/rims?

3-point and spin-out wheels were an option and cost more. Hyd PTO cost more.

I went to check the 190 out. It was sold new to me but was not new that year. It has sloped fenders . Serial number is 12884. I have no book for 190 serial numbers
