Are there special O rings made for the female pioneer couplings?  It seems like the ones I get don't last as long as the ones that came with the coupling.  My cousin was telling me some have a plastic ring next to the o ring that helps but nobody here seems to know about that.  Might be a J. D. thing.

I "googled up" Repair kit for Pioneer coupling for John Deere and found a bunch including this one from of all places Walmart. Some O-ring applications use a nylon or PTFE back-up ring. Looking at the picture of this kit, it seems there are other rings included in addition to the O-rings themselves. This is one heck of a long link. If it doesn't work just "google" it up.

If you have a local Case dealership the o-ring is part number 86505727. Or you can use a quad ring for better sealing. That is p/n A47221. I little harder to install but hold up better on a worn coupler.

I've gotten the o-rings from a local hydraulic shop.  They were very inexpensive.  A few cents each the last time I bought some.  Kriha Fluid in Lincoln NE had them.  Took an old one in and they matched right up to it.  Bought a number of them so that I had some on hand.

Thanks guys!  I have a kit of various size O rings but have used up the size for the couplings and need to get more.  Seems like the ones on the tractor when I got it lasted longer then the ones now, which made me wonder if there was a better quality one made for couplings.  Of course, the tractor is now over 20 years old so the coupling could be getting worn out too.  Will try the CIH ones as the dealer isn't too far away.  Thanks again!
