I've got an early D17 block that I would let go, cheap. It is not the full flow oiling system like the later blocks, but I think that can be changed? Central iowa location.

I've seen a number of 226 engines break those main caps. More than likely you block isn't damaged. If not, Get a machine shop to make a new set (all 3) from solid steel and then line bore them to match the block. We had to do that on a 226 that was turboed a few years ago. We also made them thicker and used studs.

If it was fun to pull in LOW gear, I could have a John Deere. If you can't make it GO... make it SHINY

Had a little mishap the other weekend. Broke #1 and #2 main caps and split the block from the main saddle to the deck. This was on a D17 block. So if anyone would have a good block they are willing to part with please let me know. Closer to Wis the better. Thanks.
