Can anyone remember a post on the forum in the past about a city that had B's with a cab and plows to plow sidewalks? Would like to see those pictures again. Thanks for any help finding those pictures again.

No data, just photos.... on the IBs, i think the door is normally in the BACK

The 1941 version may not have had a door.. I seem to remember a discussion that the back end was open, no door. .... I think these were in NYC if i remember right.

I have a restored IB with an enclosed cab and a snowplow. I'll post pix if I can figure out how to do it.

Just a thought.... on an IB, you get on from the BACK... On a B or C you normally bolt a step in the FRONT onto the 2 x 2 box section that holds the brake pedals to get a leg up.
What if you bolted an angle iron to the bell housing bolts and dropped down, then used a section of grate maybe 12 x 24 and ran back toward the brake pedals, about half way up ( 16 inches off the ground)... This could be your STEP UP.. Now your within a step up to the platform area.. Put the door in the front at the end of the GRATE and step into the cab.

I'm not to sure those B's would have had the foot brake conversion that far back. I think they came around quite a while back. Bill can probably remember when they originally came out with them.
We always stepped on the drawbar, then on the tire them over the fender. That just seemed like the normal way of getting on a B, C or CA.

John, The foot brakes came to the B-C about 1942. You know, today I do not believe I could mount the B without an implement to step on or an assist. I do remember getting on them the way you describe. Good Luck! Bill Long

What difference does it make where the brake pedal/ lever is ?? Put a step on the front and you will see a big difference. Lot easier to get on and off a B or C.

We all ways got on the B from the back till I mounted the saw rig. Need to make me a step to make getting on from the front easier. Was looking at it yesterday and was thinking I would have to make the cab come out from the tank over in front of the tire in order to get a door wide enough for my large frame to get through easily.
