The internals in my old round muffler rusted out and I decided to replace it with a 200 style Stanley muffler. It is much quieter and I think I can ditch my ear protectors now!
Happy so far, have to get it out in the field to know for sure. ![]() |

Nice looking unit— we replaced the strait pipe that was on the 200 with that muffler a few years ago. Made the tractor much more comfortable to run, still a little loud under a load where you may need hearing PPE. Lost a little whistle off the turbo, but did not notice any hp decrease. I’ll bet that tractor is a head turner in the field!

The turbo started leaking last year and I replaced it (Lloyd Made turbo) that had a loud whistle at 1900 RPM and higher. Made it a pain in the ears to run.
My brothers straight pipe is pretty loud, can't imagine Allis thought that was a good thing. It was $80 so I should easily get that amount of satisfaction out of it.

That most certainly is an AWESOME looking XT !! May I ask what you do with it that the "pipe" was a little "loud" for your liking

If you see Charlie on a straight pipe XT that’s mine lol. His has always had a muffler on his, don’t know why he doesn’t like the straight pipe. Maybe it’s because of all the ringing I have in my ears. Can’t bring myself to muffle that sweet 301 music. I know I should. Charlie, I guess I need to drive yours to see if I can bring myself to try one.

If it's like any other Stanley muffler, I would rather have the straight pipe with the turbo whistle! It also hurts the turbo's performance as well by restricting air flow.

Yes I don't work it much in the Field but the times I do use it, I got annoyed by the whistle. Much happier now, I doubt I will notice any performance decrease.
Sadly, most of the paint bubbled on it after 30 min. Time to strip it and apply High Temp Paint.
