AC in about 1970, started an Expo circuit using 3 ladies based out of Mke under the direction of Norm Swinford - the one who wrote the 'book' (s) on AC . They were muti talented spokes persons for AC at about any place where there was a machinery show as in Louisville NFMS. They had a multimedia , very complex for the day, show for the events. Later they expanded the program with more gals. It was a difficult show to travel with - took about 4 hours to unpac and set up . 3 huge screens, rear projection , 6 slide projectors, 3 dissolve units and a master and 3 movie projectors - all sync'd. Those of us who traveled with and operated this were so nervous we could thread a singer sewing machine at full pedal... oh the stories...

Tbran, thanks for sharing yet another great AC past memory. Thinking that I probably watched the AC Expo at one of the Farm Progress Shows? Here’s a link that list all those past shows.

Looks like Marion’s niece, Grace Burgess, followed in her Aunt’s Miss Tennessee footsteps.

I wrote one of the stories in the Old Allis News year ago. I was told in a letter and phone call from Norm Swinford after I agreed to do the job (with visions of sugar plumbs dancing in head) that if anything happened to any of his ladies, I would not only be fired, but, well, I will spare the details. We were not to be their buddies, friends or especially lovers but rather a dad that had better not be in the headlines or photos. Was that the reality - use your imagination. We tech guys - FFBP's fumble fingered button pushers were discussed at length by the ladies as to our screw ups. I picked up one at the Nashville airport who was in the second trimester with child... I was a naive single guy - who knew nothing about this situation - after 3 stops between Nashville and Hopkinsville Ky for bathroom breaks , I caught on - pregnant women had kidney issues.. Note she put on a great program that the elderly Sam Maddux of The Planters Hardware approved of - he was the dealer for the Youngs - the 'inventors ' of no til . Mr Sam was in the time of the 'Tobacco Wars' thus the name "The Planters Hardware".
