Well,,,,ya'll shoulda known "I" would have a sure fire UMMMm,,,low cost,?,,no,,that ain't the word ,,,,not too expensive,,,nope lets try again,,,kinda,,sorta cheap,,? HEY,,that right there is sure enough close,,,, I'ma gonna tell youse guys what works for me as like most areas of the USA,,,,we are gettin bombarded with them dang flies this year,,,They are thick as Umm,,,FLIES  and,,,and,,,I ain't even gots no cows or hosses unless ya'll wanna count ole Hungry,,that poor dog,,,theys all over him!! I'm susspossed to go to the Alien Town tamarrow to go get some spray-on stuff that is safe for spraying on dogs.
Anyways,,I went and talked to the County Extension Agent fellar yesterday and he tells me the most effective fly control are them fly strips you unroll and then hang em from whatever you got close and,,,he tells me that is by far the best means of control and THE cheapest,,,,thet guy is talkin my language,,he is,,,, you can buy one package for bout $4 bucks and there are bout 10 rolls in there!!
When I would feed ole Hungry,,them dang flies would SWARM his grocery pan and he couldn't or wouldn'yt eat. So,,I put my young engineerin mind to work and come up with something ya'll prolly like pretty good.
Instyead of hanging em,,,Take a 1"X4" board 24" long and then get a coat hanger or some stiff wire and cut two pieces of the wire and bend the wire into two "Z" shaped pieces bout 6" long each way with an eye at each end of the Z. Use a wood screw to attach one end of one "Z" at each end of the board. Then unroll the fly strip "carefully" and attach it to the eye at each end of the board and then you can place this corntraption right next to your pet's water or food dish and you talk bout the dang flies  getting trapped on there,,,UNfrigginbelievable how many flies there are,,,er USED to be after changing out a couple of those strips.
I recommend you have a pair of rubber gloves cause thet fly strip is sticky,,,!!!

I use them "trap & Toss" containers, I've filled 2 of them already, I usually hang one of them out in the front yard, but being the lazy bum I was that day I just set it on the table off to the side of the grill. it kept all them flies away from the deck, grill, and front door. they gits trapped and drown. the canister comes with a packet of fly sex attractant, throw that stuff away and just put a little water inside like it says and then put a small piece of raw meat/fish/poultry...any one of them inside...that really attracts them! every once in awhile a fly will get inside the house, it turns into a pesky bugger, I have a can of that spray like Trace said and I give it one push when I go to bed, it'll be dead real soon. and with all the flooding around here, I have one of them machines like Trace shows on the basement steps up high pointed out into the basement. it kills any bug critters that breed in damp areas. I used to use them sticky fly strips like Joe mentions...and yep...they is cheap and affective until one of yer kids or your old lady....oooops...I mean your loving wife gits close to them and they end up stuck in their hair (with or without the dead flies)...that will be the end of buying them! whew! you cannot believe the words that can come outta their mouths!

Well,,"IF" and I use that word carelessly,,,IF my friggin phone would start talkin to my PC,,I would post a pic of just one of them fly strips plumb loaded with them flies,,,UGGHhhhh,,,,!!  I will say this,,,thet sex attractant does work as it bringin my neighbor's flies over to our house,,,. There are not any hosses or cows within a half a mile so can't figure where them sobs is mating but theys a lot of them this year.
I rigged up a big swamp cooler to be roll around and it pretty nice inside the garage but I had to put some of them strips in there too. altho,,it lots more bad on front porch where I gots ole Hungry's grocery pan,,,I would move it off the porch but them dang Doves and sparrows and black birds is always comin right up to the porch to steal his groceries,,,with me right there bout 15' away,,,may have to get my pellet gun out ,,,,but then I got that mess to contend with,,,,sheeesh,,,,,how long before winter,,,???

I bought( argh I hate hat word...) 2  'fly catcher' devices....simple plastic jar with a funky yellow lid. Toss some fish and bit of water in it. Flies come for the fishy smell then can't get back out. Hundreds enter, only a few might get out..
'Make-yur-own-at-home-clone'... Take a 2 liter plastic pop bottle. cut top 1/4 off, turn upside down, staple to btm of bottle, looks like 'V',push fish into bottle, add say 1-2" water.place  away from sttin areas(it does stink...).
Version 2 is to lightly TAPE the neck on. That way you can add fish/water easily, THEN put top on and have fun. You can also 'empty/reload' easy !

place a drop or two of liquid soap in the water before set it out, even a single droplet will do as takes the surface tension off the water and the flies cannot float at all.
