Want to Refresh hard to read B/C/CA Tractor numbers in transmissions. Best place to buy numbers Zero to Nine and individual A-B-C letter punches. What size do I ask for?

McMaster Carr sells individual metal stamps, their site shows quite a variety of stamps. They are sized by the height of the character. Measure the height of the numbers you want to refresh and check to see if they have a match for the height of your numbers. MSC has some and I expect Grainger does as well.

I’ve seen serial numbers on combines were the 1 was upside down. Also 6 and 9 being the same number stamp. |

Before you stamp make sure all the paint is cleaned out. You might find out that you won't need to purchase stamps because they may look as good as the day the numbers were stamped at the factory.

I know I've seen on TV that the cops have etched the numbers with some kind of acid to see them. On TV it's amazing how it comes out.
Let us know how you come out Ken and what you did. |
