My 1953 WD45 with the Marvel-Schebler carb only runs on partial choke.  Full opening the choke kills the engine.  Runs just great on the partial choke. Mowed my pasture this way.   Full choke also kiills engine, (obviously).  Suggestions?

Partial plugged fuel screen/ filter.
Screen is on top of sediment bowl or up in the valve housing above the bowl.

Open the main jet a turn or two for starters.

The engine is running lean. When you flip the choke partially on, it fattens the mix bringing the engine back where it likes the mix to be and it runs. Probably took on some dirt in either the idle circuit or enrichment circuits which cut the fuel mix and leaned the engine out. Its time to start at the tank and go through you're whole fuel delivery system and clean things up including the Carburetor....

Steve Said it. Possible clogged up around the main jet.

Ok.  I have gone through the entire fuel system and cleaned the carb 3 times.  I ran carb cleaner needles through all the jets and soaked in gumout, blew out with comp. air.  No luck.  Won't idle.  Have to finesse tne power valve along with the idle mixture screw to get some decent running but still does not sound right.  No throttle response.  Still have to partially apply choke to get it running the way it should.  I did notice the idle jet is somehat buggered up like someone tried to remove it.  Ouch

Check the float level too. Also for any manifold leaks. Since the jet is bunged up someone probably tried to fix something in the past.
