I've seen a very fine piece of wire launched right through plexiglass from a reach mower when I worked for the County. It missed the operator's eye by less than a quarter inch. The wire had to hit the glass at a near-perfect 90 degrees to do what it did. You'd be surprised at what a mower can do.
