I sure would like to see pics of members beefed up draw bars on their 7000 and 8000 series tractors. Anyone modified theirs so it would hold more tongue weight. Thanks

Effective in the mid-8000 series run was a drawbar of the exact same dimensions that was heat-treated and much stronger than originals. I think maybe 8070's may have always had it?? Anyway, you CANNOT tell the difference by looking at them. 90%+ of anything you find in a boneyard will be the softer design.

I'm wanting to use a bigger heavier duty drawbar from a larger tractor. I will have to build a heavier bracket for the rear mount. My goal is to have a drawbar that will support 6500# tongue weight. Is this too much to try to support, besides the 3/4 holes that hold the original rear support, I noticed that there are two 5/8 holes on each side that could also be used to help secure a heavier support bracket. Think this idea is realistic?

Loop a chain around 3 point arms and use the arms as extra support JD uses them for drills and other heavy drawbar applications. Run chain under drawbar with a little tension on it when raised fully.

put a carrier wheel under the tongue of the implement. what machine are you trying to pull? did you modify it yourself that made it heavier? or is it a factory machine? maybe modify it more to hitch to a quick hitch on the 3-point

Wanting to pull a 42ft Schulte mower in pasture fields. After it is unfolded the front does have support wheels on the front of the wings, when in transport position is when all the weight will be the problem. Again, just wanting to use it for light duty pasture work.

ya might want to see what the minimum HP required to run a 42 ft. machine,,, I'm betting its a lot more than what an 8070 can do if ya gonna put it on a 8070 I'd sure look into some sort of 3 pt hookup to carry that kind of weight, or I think your just asking for a lot of broken drawbars...

Yes, I am aware of the recommended hp requirements, but as I said earlier I am just going to be "clipping" pasture nothing major. I pull a 26ft now with an 8050 or 8070, just cruise around about 2/3 throttle in 4th or 5th in the powershift with those tractors. I am also sure that when I move into some heavy CRP that i will definitely need more hp but for now my main concern is keeping my pastures trimmed up!
