I have the turf tires on my 616, can anyone tell me what size chains to buy, and best place to get them? Ive looked on eBay, but many many different sizes. Or does anyone have a set they would part with? I'd also be interested in any wheel weight info or leads.
Thanks, bama Edited by bamaboy - 06 Nov 2016 at 8:07pm |

As handy as you are with making implements for your 616, you could probably take off the wheels, line the inside of the rims with a sheet of plastic, put a couple of bolts thru the rims where wheel weight bolts would go, put a piece of pipe around each bolt, put washers and nuts on, and pour the "just add water" cement that comes in a bag in the rims for weights.

I have a used set from a 720 I had with a snowblower on it. It had the Turf Tire on it. If your 616 has this tire (it should) my chains will fit.
These have been sold 12/7/16.

I purchased chains for my 720 2 years ago from Tire Chains R Us and am very pleased. I purchased 2 link chains, meaning there are more chains across you tires than 4 link. More chain contact with the ground for better traction and a better ride. I just called and gave them my tire size. I have the flotation tires so my size is different. i also recommend the center slack adjuster. Its basically a round ring with 4 springs that attach to 4 points on the tire chain. It keeps the chain tight while in use. My 720 was unstoppable
with these even with the 52" snowthrower up front. |
