I have several 300 bushel gravity wagons consisting of DMI, EZ-flow, & parker types. Anyone on this forum recommend a good bolt-on roll tarp kit for these?

There is only one. I do not know the name of it off hand, but I can get it for you. It uses a spool and cable on each end, so as the tarp opens the cable is unwound. As the tarp is closed, the cable winds up. It uses a hydraulic hose instead of a knuckle or U joint between the tarp spool and crank handle shaft. You will love this when tarpping loads hooked together. When the tarp is open, have it rolled up on the left side of the wagon should you wish to unload on the go. They will NOT blow around on windy days. We have 3 of them and love them. I'll bet YouTube has them.

Unit 3, you are exactly right. Only way to go. I have 4 of them, but I am drawing a blank on the name also. Old age hitting I guess.

Ok, I had to go look on the grain cart. E-Z LOCK is what these 4 are. By Agri Covers Inc.
We have several Shur - Loc and some Shur - Co tarps on our hoppers and dump trailer. But this style seems to work better for us on the cart and wagon. We still have one 2 ton also, and it has a Shur- Loc too. That's bad that I had to go look, LOL! |

I think about any tarp maker has the cable style your talking about, I put a Syntex on a 400 bushel wagon, but it was the regular style with the u-joint and no cable. Then when the tarp is cranked shut, you use the crank as a lever to tension the tarp. They make tarp savers too for this style of tarp that prevents the wind from lifting it (usually not a problem until you get onto longer tarps). For me the Syntex was cheaper than the Shurco, and since it was in Iowa, it was cheaper to ship also. I have no complaints about the Syntex tarp that I bought, when you contact a company, they'll want to know the width, length, and if the lip goes out or in on the top of the wagon.
