Question: our 5' 3 point bush / brush hog has seen better days.
Will our D-15 series 2 handle a 6 foot hog? Weight and shaft HP wise? Does fine with the five foot. |

Depends completely on what you are cutting. Most things my 15 would be fine. Tall grass would be too much.

You don't have to take a full 6' cut

I used a very tired D15II SC on a 5' A-C brush cutter (3-pt. and I use A-C adaptors) and it was used to take down up to 2"+ trees when initially clearing my place. Bought a name brand 6' cutter (SQ72) that shows to weigh just over 1100# and she runs it fine. Front end can get a bit light and I run tall rear tires but they are nicely sized for each other, even when used in 6' tall grasses/brush on mowing jobs.
Just keep that 160ci wound up to full or near full throttle and I cut 12 hour days in 2nd, low range on the PD without issues. |

I would say yes, it will handle it weight wise. If you are going through thick sh!t, just take a partial cut...
